Born on These Trails

Meet the Guides

These are not tour operators. They grew up here. They know which cloud means rain in an hour, which path closes in March, and where the best chai is on the way down.

01
Dharamkot · Triund
Shiv
Dharamshala · 8 years guiding

Shiv grew up in Dharamkot watching tourists struggle up the Triund ridge. At 19 he started guiding — no certificate, just an encyclopaedic knowledge of every boulder and shortcut on the mountain. He will point out the exact rock where snow leopard pug marks were spotted last winter. He charges fairly, speaks three languages, and will not let you turn back when the cloud break is only 20 minutes away.

Known as the guide who never checks his phone on the mountain
02
Manali · Hampta Pass
Kabir
Old Manali · 12 years guiding

Kabir has crossed Hampta Pass over 200 times. He can read the weather at 4,270 metres the way most people read a menu. He carries a battered notebook full of campsites, water sources, and the names of every family who will shelter you in a storm. His pre-trek briefings are equal parts safety manual and stand-up comedy. He will tell you it is going to be hard. He will also make sure you make it.

Still uses the same notebook from his first season in 2012
03
Kasol · Kheerganga
Abhi
Parvati Valley · 5 years guiding

Abhi is 24 and has already walked the Parvati Valley more times than he can count. He knows the trail to Kheerganga like a familiar conversation — the shortcut after the second river crossing, the flat rock where you stop and eat before the final climb. He is the kind of guide who quietly hands you a walking stick before you realise you need one. Guests do not just hire Abhi. They come back for him.

70% of his bookings are returning trekkers

You Have Been Here a While

We Write a Newsletter.
It Is Not What You Think.

No weekly top-10-treks clickbait. No discount codes you will never use. Just one handwritten email — sometimes about a trail, sometimes a conversation at 3am on a mountaintop, sometimes just a photo and three sentences that felt true that week.

We have been told it is the only newsletter people actually look forward to opening. That might be us being biased. But you will not regret finding out.

No spam. Never sold. Unsubscribe any time with one click. But honestly — nobody ever does.
